Program Coordination
Page Content
Faculty are responsible for directing the learning enterprise, including overseeing and coordinating educational programs to assure that each contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains discipline currency. As such, Å·²©ÓéÀÖ³Ç assigns Program Coordinators for all majors, stand-alone minors, certificates, and proficiency badges.
To be qualified to be a Program Coordinator, faculty must:
- be full-time faculty members
- have been promoted in rank at Å·²©ÓéÀÖ³Ç or have been granted an exception to the promotion in rank (approved by the dean)
- be qualified to teach at all levels for the program for which they are assigned
For additional information on program coordination qualification requirements, see the Faculty Credentials and Qualifications Manual, the , and the Instructor of Record Policy.
Program Coordinator Assignments
School directors are responsible for assigning program coordination. For an official Program Coordinator (PC) change, the school director must complete a Program Coordinator Approval Form (PCAF). The PCAF must be signed by the director, the prospective PC, the College Credentialing Officer (dean's office), the Graduate School (for graduate-level coordination), and the Senior Associate Provost for Institutional Success. Once the Senior Associate Provost for Institutional Success has reviewed and approved the PCAF, the program coordination appointment is official.
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness requests that schools confirm PC assignments
every September; however, school directors may update the list of program coordinators
and PC responsibilities at any time throughout the year by submitting a PCAF through
the approval process outlined above.
